I PROMISE these events are real and they brought me undending confusion.

The story starts at home. My dad asks me to come to the store with him to help him carry stuff. I go, we get the stuff out of the store, and we're on our way back when he stops in at a KFC, and asks what i want. I tell him my order, but when we get to the window, they tell us they cant make some food because the machines are broken. My dad asks what foods.

Chicken.

A pretty major setback, as far as a plce with chicken in its name for selling chicken would be. But no see i have fibbed, lied a little in the previous sentence BECAUSE, what this employee really said, word for word, is that the chicken slicing machine is broken. Understandable, we drive home. My dad grumbles a bit but im barely listening, as in my head im trying to conceptualize what on EARTH a chicken slicing machine could refer to or even LOOK like. I mean surely, they cut all that stuff before it reaches the store right? And if not, if theyre only cutting chicken, they can just use a knife right? What does the chicken slicing machine DO?

So, i look around. I google "kfc chicken slicing machine" and i CANNOT find anything about this offically like, nothing saying they have them in store. I DID find an industrial chicken slicing machine - on alibaba. It's even labelled "kfc chicken cutting machine", and it looks like a pinball table with a grill attached. However, being industrial, and thus larger than 3 people standing end to end, this machine clearly runs on some kind of unholy force that allows it to rip chicken apart at horrifying speeds. I also doubt every kfc store would have one of these it seems FAR easier to just slice it all beforehand, and send THOSE to stores but i'll admit im not a supply chain genius, and i was never that good at openTTD.

So, my mind is racing at this point. What did he mean? Was he just told this by his manager or someone higher up the chain? how deep does the chicken slicing machine hole go?? Was this even the same machine? Did the machine itself tell him to do this? Was this a cry for help? How many of his fellow employees had he lost?

I have no idea what the inside of a KFC looks like. The cooking area i mean, kfc interiors look just slightly sad i dont know how to describe it. There COULD be a chicken slicing machine back there. IN every single kfc there COULD be a butchers shop happening in the back, just turning chickens into slices or something. And we'd have no idea. Not until the employees have to come out and tell you that they failed to appease its desires and its taken their regional manager as tribute, so you all need to leave the store immediately.
